www.commsvision.com OAK BRANCHES INTO UC

The stage is now set for Comms Vision 2010, the launching pad for a distribution agreement of major importance between Oak Telecom and UC vendor AVST.

O

ak Telecom has struck a distribution deal with

unified comms vendor AVST. The agreement extends Oak’s reach into the unified communications market and offers AVST a new channel for its CallXpress UC solution with Oak marketing the product to its partner base. According to Oak’s joint CEO James Emm UC is ‘finally going to be affordable to all’ and is a major win for Oak and its partners. “I’m pleased to be bringing this product to the channel,” he enthused.

“CallXpress will drive new sales and fits well with our CSX platform products of call recording, call logging, application integration and wallboard display.”

Emm believes that unified communications means many things to many people, with one main theme being cost savings through increased productivity. “In these recessional times business models change rapidly necessitating technologies to evolve with them at an increasing rate,” he commented. “AVST’s CallXpress is one of the industry’s most interoperable UC platforms with over 400 TDM and IP telephony integrations, and has the ability to support multiple telephony switches on a single system.”

CallXpress applications include advanced call processing, speech, voicemail, unified messaging, personal assistant, fax and notification capabilities. CallXpress allows businesses to grow both organically and through acquisition, providing an enduring UC platform to support their business transformation. Using state-of-the-art speech recognition technology, the CallXpress Voice User Interface (VUI) increases employee responsiveness and automates business processes. CallXpress provides a Voice User Interface for the Auto Attendant, making it easy for employees and customers to reach the appropriate person using simple voice commands. This interface provides reliable voice-driven call routing 24x7 to menu options such as operating hours, driving directions and a corporate directory.

The Voice User Interface provides employees the ability to get things done wherever they are – driving, at the airport, even in places without an Internet connection. “For instance, you can take calls and manage voice, fax and email messages on a mobile phone while driving to work, all in a completely hands-free mode. Voice-activated management simplifies the task and ensures continued productivity,” Emm noted.

“Contacting customers has never been so easy. Now it’s easy to be proactive in communicating to customers, whether you want to contact 20, hundreds or thousands of people. NotifyXpress is an application you can add on to
