o provide great guest experiences, improve your skill sets, and have the public beat a snowy path to your door, you have to put yourself out there. And if you want snowsports to thrive, it’s important to get your ski and ride school out there, too.

T

Tat’s why, this season, PSIA-AASI launched two pilot digital social media campaigns to test messaging, engage young skiers and riders, and drive awareness about the benefits of taking a professional lesson. Te campaigns – created with input from PSIA-AASI’s divisions, national team, and member schools – are:

Q“Go with a Pro/Promote Yourself,” which seeks to create awareness of the benefits of taking a professional lesson; help schools, resorts, and members attract new clients; and support guest retention efforts.

Q “Work on Snow - Recruitment,” the goal of which is to get young people

excited about teaching snowsports, provide resources that will help them learn how to become instructors, and generate buzz about the ski and snowboard industry.

SPREAD THE WORD, SHARE YOUR PASSION

Each PSIA-AASI branded campaign has two components; the first of which is an external focus on audiences outside of PSIA-AASI, with ads placed on social media that target different groups – such as people who may be interested in taking a lesson or those intrigued by opportunities to teach skiing or snowboarding. Te second component has an internal focus, with free online toolkits and resources developed for a PSIA-AASI audience – such as members, schools, and divisions. Tese toolkits offer various ways to spread the word about the benefits of taking a professional lesson and helping grow snowsports by promoting the joys of skiing, riding (and teaching). For example, the Go with a Pro/Promote

Yourself” toolkit contains a large collection of resources designed to promote lessons with a professional instructor, including digital badges you can use on social media to tout your areas of expertise and credentials (think of some as certification pins you display on your social media accounts instead of your jacket). And if you’re still finding your footing in social media, there’s even a guide that will walk you through the steps of using different social media accounts to get your insights and skill sets out there.
