Being called Majestic Wine, many people are surprised


when they enter our store to see that we also have a rather impressive selection of beers. In fact, we get just as excited about the latest trends and developments in the world of beer, and recent months have seen a rather interesting array of craft brews join our range. What's more, we’re running a special ‘craft beer’ deal which means you get a price saving if you explore the range. BrewDog Punk IPA


From a Scottish brewery known for their edgy and forthright


marketing, but more importantly their flavourful collection of beers. This is a bold yet refreshing India

Alhambra 1925 Reserva


Brewed in beautiful Granada using traditional methods, this is a serious lager. Incredible smoothness and body with an impressive malt character. For me this is head and


shoulders above the majority of lagers out there, delicious!

Einstok White Ale Do you have a fan of wheat beer in your life? If so, this absolute gem from Iceland is the perfect way to let them know you love them! I can’t enthuse enough about this beer; lashings of citrus

Flying Dog Easy IPA


The IPA style has a lot to thank the Americans for. US breweries injected new life (and hops!) into this 18th century recipe, and have come to be


recognised for their


high alcohol examples. Flying Dog, based in Maryland, realised that these high octane beers were not conducive to ‘session’ drinking so produced this

slightly more restrained beer (4.7%). You still get delicious grapefruit and subtle spice flavours, but with the added bonus of maybe cracking open more than one and not suffering the next day!

Lagunitas IPA Speaking of full-on American IPAs, may we present the Lagunitas. This beer, brewed in California, is a benchmark of the modern IPA style; tonnes of piney, citrus, malt flavours that lead to a long,


lingering finish. One to go for if you are looking for something robust enough to drink with food, we’d recommend something lightly spiced to complement the flavours in the beer.

Meantime London Lager


As the name might suggest, Meantime is a fantastic


brewery located in Greenwich. This is their take on a classic lager style, and is made using high quality East Anglian malted


barley. This is a really refreshing, clean tasting brew, perfect for enjoying in the garden, or anywhere in fact!

Majestic are located just north of Bury town centre, at no. 3 Out Northgate (IP33 1JQ). They are open seven days a week and always have wines (and occasionally beers!) open to sample on their ‘tasting counter’ to give you some inspiration. Majestic operate slightly different to other retailers in that they have a minimum purchase of any six wines (beer can be bought separately, no wine purchase necessary) but believe their range and prices make them well worth a visit.
