The write place to be - three Long Melford based authors enjoy meeting up in the friendly surroundings of this charming tearoom for a coffee and cake.
• Anni Stewart is the author of two children’s books and her writing provides what many children look for in a book - a good story with nail biting excitement. Anni worked as a probation offi cer for 30 years but has been able to concentrate on writing for children since her retirement.
Margaret Moore worked for 37 years as a legal secretary. She retired in 2006 and has since written a novel encompassing the highs and lows of life in the east end during the war years. Margaret has also produced a children’s poetry book with 150 poems and 75 illustrations which encapsulates many childhood moments.
Eddie Johnson was born within the sound of Bow Bells. After a stint in National Service followed by a series of dead end jobs, he took over the Puddings in 1962 and was licensee there until 2000. He has written a memoir of his time in the Puddings and is currently working on a book of his early life, schooldays, evacuation and National Service.
