“My mum was an artist, she spent hours
‘ hare running across a path.” A self taught artist, Lucy loved drawing and painting from an early age. “My mum was an artist, she spent hours drawing and creating things with me and my sisters,” she says. “My dad was a forester for the Forestry Commission so we moved around a lot, always living in rural locations with huge areas of woodland. Finding myself being drawn back to woods is so peaceful and inspiring. I guess I’ve always been immersed in nature.” “As a teenager living in Wales I started illustrating books for some local clients. Then I moved to South Devon to run an art gallery and teach craft at a private art school. About this time I had my first exhibition which was a springboard for everything else - I was offered a job in London and became assistant art director for card makers Camden Graphics. I was also doing my own work and exhibiting.” “Finally, moving to Suffolk 12 years ago brought me back to my roots - all my family originally came from this part of the world,” she says.
