Generac set to celebrate
Generac, which this year is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the TowerLight brand, appropriately launched a new lighting tower at the Show. The V20 has four 300W LED lamps and is available with either a Yanmar single-cylinder engine
running at 3,000rpm or a Kubota twin-cylinder model operating at 1,500rpm. With the latter option, the machine has a quoted noise level of 83Lwa. The manufacturer says that the light output from the LED heads is equivalent to that produced by 1,000W metal halide heads. The V20 incorporates a digital control unit to monitor all major
machine functions, and three doors are provided to facilitate servicing. Two top-mounted doors are designed to give easy access to the engine, while the rear panel opens for inspection of the controller. The machine is claimed to illuminate an area of up to 3,900m2

It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of Rod Tarrant. He was 71. As the Executive Hire Show’s Health & Safety Officer, Rod was one of the key ingredients in its success, having been involved since the launch event in 2007. Well-known and respected by exhibitors, his sense of humour and his friendly, helpful manner were much appreciated by everyone during the stressful times of stand build-up and breakdown. “Rod was a great character to have at the Show and he
established friendships with many of our exhibitors over the years,” said Event Manager Emma Sandy. “His energy and love of life were infectious and the Organiser’s Office will be a quieter place without him.
