EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW REVIEW continued

FG Wilson increases line-up

FG Wilson displayed the PRO150 and PRO275 models from its PRO Rental generator range outside the Ricoh Arena South entrance. The manufacturer has also added the PRO100 unit, rated at 100kVA. The range meets EUIIIa environmental requirements and the machines are designed to be easily switched between 50 and 60Hz

while maintaining emissions and noise certification at both frequencies. The company says this means that one generator can satisfy varying load requirements across diverse applications. Models from the PRO275 to PRO500 include a viscous clutch so that the engine fan does not need to run continuously at full speed and power.

Based on its practical experience of supplying mini excavators to carry out basement excavation, BISAF has developed diesel particulate filters (DPFs) for use on engines rated up to 20kW. These rely on active regeneration only, typically once every eight hours. Two sizes are available, one for engines up to 10kW and the other for power units rated between 10kW and 20kW. To activate the regeneration process, the machine’s engine is stopped, a special 24V battery pack is connected to the filter and the ‘start’ button is pressed. After approximately 25 minutes the machine is ready for use.

Chicago Pneumatic gave pride of place on its stand to the CPLB 2 LED mobile lighting tower which is now available in 110V and can be powered directly from the grid or a portable generator. Four LED lamps are incorporated, giving an output of 10 lux with a quoted average coverage of 3,000m2

. The mast

extends to 7m, and up to four machines can be linked together and run from a single supply. Also new is the CPPG 2.3 portable generator, which is now available in 110V as well as 240V, and which could be used in tandem with the CPLB 2 LED. It has a long run fuel tank and is rated at 2.3kVA. Electric start is fitted as standard.
