EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW REVIEW

“Gaining that competitive edge”

EHN talks to a number of hirers about the special deals they did, the contacts they made and the many other invaluable benefits that attending the Show gave them.

“ “

Dennis Gwynne, Andrews Sykes Well done to the Executive Hire team for organising yet

another great Show. It gave me the opportunity to catch up with long-standing industry colleagues in one central location. There were a number of new and interesting suppliers and products on display relating to the HVAC and temporary power generation market.

I also managed to track down Robert Aplin, shake his hand and wish him all the best. Thanks go to him for being the voice of the hire industry over the last couple of decades, and for his vision and passion in taking the Show from a concept to the successful event it is today. It won’t be the same without you Robert! But the Show will go on.

” “ Stuart Parker, Parker Tool Hire

Walking into the eleventh Show was like visiting an old friend. You recognise a lot of the sales people on the stands and they are always welcoming, with new items and bargains to offer. This year I was keen to look at the new Fairport mixer and I bought a pump from T-T, a generator from Stephill, ladders from Lyte and a tile lifter from Trelawny. Not a bad day’s work.

Our first buy was the new Stairlyte

from Lyte Ladders & Towers, followed by purchases of trash pumps from Obart, and dehumidifiers and blowers from Legend Brands (Dri-Eaz), a new supplier for us. A Cormidi tracked dumper was acquired from A&Y Equipment to add to the fleet of five we already have, and from Camon we ordered an LA25 aerator and a C8 rotovator. Another purchase was a Thwaites 3-tonnne high-lift swivel dumper, and the day was finished off discussing dust management with Dustcontrol and purchasing a DC1800 vacuum cleaner.

It's been another fantastic Show, well laid- out and well-attended yet again. It’s become an important event for us every year to keep in touch with suppliers face-to-face and network with other like-minded hirers. It’s also a welcome, useful break from the day-to-day running of the business. We made a number of purchases for both our hire fleet and our sales stock. We added more rubble conveyors and a Bumpa hoist from Mace Industries and took advantage of special Show deals from Euro Towers and Husqvarna. You have to be here to get the deals and to gain that competitive edge which can make all the difference in a busy market.

” “

Keith McIvor, KDM Hire The Show has grown from strength to

strength and is undoubtedly the premier event in the UK for our industry. It is an excellent place to meet acquaintances old and new and build relationships. As a Northern Ireland-based company, we have fewer opportunities to regularly meet our suppliers, so it’s great to put faces to names and see the latest innovations. Credit must go to the organisers for their

pro-active approach in bringing customers and suppliers together, promoting both the social and business sides in a relaxed environment. The Show is a must-go-to event in our calendar.
