EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW REVIEW continued
More options from Point of Rental
Point of Rental, the Texas-based software company that last year acquired Higher Concept, the developer of the popular Syrinx program, demonstrated it along with three other hire management systems from its portfolio. Essentials is a cloud-based system that can be used by
hirers and other organisations from diverse industries to manage their equipment. Expert was developed for the party and event hire market and can be used to tailor packages to meet a customer’s budget, as well as giving the ability for quick updating as their requirements change, while Elite is a suite for businesses with multiple locations, including those working in different currencies. The company also demonstrated the equipment tracking and telematics capabilities that can be integrated with its software from TSO Mobile, which also exhibited at the Show.

Kirkland’s Giant charge
UK importer, Kirkland UK, promoted the small skid steer and compact articulated wheel loaders made by Tobroco
Machines in Holland. Given particular prominence was the small stand- on-the-back SK251D skid steer loader
which weighs 810kg. Powered by a 17.5kW Kubota diesel engine, it has a tipping load of 293kg and its all-hydraulic hitch allows the use of many different buckets and attachments. Interest was also generated in a new, electric skid steer loader that should become available in August. Designated the E-Skid, it weighs 1,150kg, is 920mm wide on standard tyres and can be operated by remote control. It can be fitted with a small hydraulic breaker for demolition projects.

Hybrid from HGI
Harrington Generators International (HGI) showed its recently launched Nano hybrid portable generator which can deliver power from batteries silently and without emissions. Available in 50Hz and 6Hz versions, it has been developed to give pure sine wave output ranging from 400W to 2,000W, together with CTE (centre tap earth) and dual voltage capability. The machine incorporates connections to enable charging via solar panels or vehicles, and to allow units to be linked together for increased capacity. A USB port is also provided for charging portable devices.

Bomag promoted its latest and lightest vibrating plate compactor. The BVP10/30 forward travel plate weighs 47kg and it also has a vibration isolated handle to reduce HAV to only 2.5m/s2
.
The machine is powered by a 2.1kW Honda petrol engine with automatic shutdown if the oil level is too low. The maintenance-free exciter generates a centrifugal force of 10KN with an amplitude of 1.34mm and a frequency of 100Hz. The manufacturer says the plate is already proving popular with hirers, including WHC Hire Services which has bought 20. Bomag also
exhibited a version of its popular
1200mm drum width BW120AD-5 tandem roller with a 24.6kW Kubota engine and diesel particulate filter to meet the Tier 4 Final
emissions standards and suitable for operation in low
emission zones. It was shown with a rear-mounted chip spreader. 01622 716611
