AIR CONDITIONING ANCILLARY

PRODUCT OF THE YEAR Winner

Advanced Engineering Hydrofoam 2.0

I

f you look through any ACR engineer’s kit and you’re certain to fi nd acid- based cleaners in it. They’re perfect for quickly removing metal-based oxides, scaling and other fouling from condensers and heat exchange surfaces. However, using existing acid-based products could signifi cantly reduce the effi ciency and lifespan of the equipment they’re cleaning and pose risks to the engineers using them.

Over an 18-month period, the company worked in close partnership with academics at the University of Surrey to develop a solution that would be less harmful to workers, equipment and the environment. The reformulated HydroFoam 2.0 is signifi cantly safer than the old HydroFoam. In fact, it is now classifi ed as merely a mild skin irritant - unlike its predecessor that was both corrosive and toxic under CLP (Classifi cation, Labelling, and Packaging of substances and mixtures). This new product is no longer hazardous for shipping and is safe to be transported by standard couriers.

This new formulation also means there’s no corrosion or fl ash rusting. In addition, it doesn’t eat away at surface coatings or underlying metals. It will, however, ensure your coils are visibly shiny and brighter. Moreover, the product inhibits the deposition of dirt onto the coil, allowing it to stay cleaner for longer and making it easier to clean in the future. Rigorous testing has revealed that HydroFoam 2.0 is more than twice as

eff ective as other chemicals in its class at dissolving limescale - including the old formula HydroFoam.
