Williams

Williams Refrigeration has added to its established Gem range of grab-and-go merchandisers with the launch of its fi rst heated model, the Scarlet Multideck. Combining the same sleek style as

its refrigerated counterparts with the ability to keep accurate, safe temperature control, the Scarlet Multideck off ers an eye-catching display unit for pre-cooked hot foods. The product maintains reliable, consistent and safe temperature with its infra-red quartz halogen lamps for instant and consistent heat, maintaining the ideal holding temperature of 65-70°C for hot foods such as pasties, sausage rolls, soups and pies. Food is displayed on the Scarlet’s three tilted shelves and the interior base, with each having an individually controlled temperature setting. This makes it possible to safely store diff erent foods at their required temperatures. The Scarlet features double wheel castors, optional rear doors, an ultra-quiet operating noise level of 35dB, and full-length LED lighting.

Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) developer, Smashtag, has launched a Bluetooth temperature data logger designed for operation by anyone with a smartphone or tablet.

Used in conjunction with the Smashtag Chill app for both Android and iPhone devices, the new data logger monitors the cold chain more easily, quickly and at a lower cost than traditional approaches. Ideal for use in the transport of fresh produce, frozen foods, refi ned foodstuff s (such as chocolate, wine and cheese) and pharmaceuticals, Smashtag stores data securely in the Cloud and makes it available for authorised users anywhere in the world to access. Matt Sims, managing director of Smashtag, said: “As almost everybody has a smartphone and wireless networks are everywhere, Bluetooth was an obvious technology choice.

“Being low cost and simple to use, we believe Smashtag will allow more people to acquire temperature data more quickly. Although many refrigerated trucks and containers today are temperature-monitored, your product can be moved between vehicles, breaking the chain of data. With a Smashtag within your packaging, you can be sure your product has been kept within the correct temperature range throughout its journey.”

Humidity Solutions has introduced the new HomEvap to the UK market, opening up new opportunities for providing

safe and precise humidity control and/or low energy cooling for residential, commercial or preservation applications. Fitted to an air stream such as a heat recovery unit, the HomEvap Humidifi er connects inline to provide humidity-controlled air to space. Using the adiabatic evaporative process, the water wastage is low, as is the energy usage. A built-in heater can warm the air to overcome the cooling eff ect if required. The HomEvap Cooler can be fi tted to the warm air extract prior to the heat recovery unit, so that in this instance the cooling eff ect is transferred to the incoming air without the humidity, providing up to 2kW of cooling for 20W of energy. Both solutions can be combined if required, with a single controller providing the brains behind the technology. All controls and sensors are included in the package, making it a plug-and-play solution. If there is no airfl ow, the HomEvap Direct is the solution. The system is stand alone, using a low energy, quiet fan, and can be discreetly positioned above a ceiling or in a cupboard. This innovative humidifi er from HomEvap increases comfort in every living and working environment and ensures a healthy indoor climate. HomEvap evaporators were developed as energy effi cient humidifi ers, coolers and combined solutions for offi ces, homes, hotels and public facilities.
