Condair opens new Hamburg factory

lobal humidifier specialist, Condair, has recently opened its newly built
production, logistics and sales facility i n Hamburg, Germany, marking a milestone in the company’s development.
The 13,000m 2 building centralises Condair’s European manufacturing operations. Situated next to Hamburg a irport, the new Condair facility is also close to the motorway and harbour.
Oliver Zimmermann, Condair’s chief executive, explained:
“Norderstedt in Hamburg offered us t he perfect logistical location. Placing o ur production facility close to our core central European markets, with such convenient transport links, shortens our delivery channels and results in quicker delivery times.
The consolidation of four different E uropean production centres i nto a new high-tech facility not o nly makes Condair more
s treamlined and cost-effective but also enables us to improve our processes and quality.
“The excellent opportunities offered by the new location are essential for the far-reaching
r estructuring of the company and it is with great pride that we open this new chapter in the Condair success story.”
Central to the design of the Condair building was a focus on e nergy saving technology, and being a world leading humidification specialist, maintaining a healthy indoor climate of 40%-60% relative humidity at 22°C-26°C, was of utmost importance.
Güntner installs new measurement laboratory

üntner has established a new measu rement laboratory, based at the company’s
headquarters in Fürstenfeldbruck in Ba varia, Germany.
What makes the new system so special is that it not only measures the volume of CO
2 and NH 3 , but it
can also take capacity and air volume measu rements. In addition to this, the system will soon enable sound measu rements to be carried out. The chamber design is closely based on the requirements of EN 327/328, and provides reliable capacity measu rements for a wide range of thermal boundary conditions. The design of the measu ring system also allows frosting and defrosting tests to be performed. Measu rements are
carried out on CO
condensers as well as CO evaporators.
2 gas coolers and 2 and NH3
This year, capacity measu rements will ha ve priority at the new laboratory. At the beginning of 2018, the details on the design and dimensioning of the air-measuring section will be determined.
For air measu rements, the test item is connected via an opening at the ceiling to a duct system installed above the chamber.
The air volume can reach a
maximum of 30,000m3 /hou r. From 2018 onwards, it will also be possible to measure sound.
The measu rements of the CO 2 units are to be carried out in
preparation for the extension of the Eu rovent certification to these units.
