FEATURE REPORT PRODUCT NEWS set free vrf with off coil temperature control Kingspan
After fi re damage in 2013, Airedale’s headquarters had to be rebuilt. Kingspan Kooltherm FM Pipe Insulation was installed on the successful rebuild in Rawdon, Leeds, due to its wide operating temperature envelope and exceptional fi re performance.
Kingspan Kooltherm FM Pipe Insulation is FM Approved as per Approval Standard Class 4924. FM Approvals state the benefi t of approved pipe insulation: “Pipe and duct insulated with FM Approved insulation do not require supplemental sprinklers, sprinkler inspections, and sprinkler maintenance, thereby reducing long-term operating costs.”
Kooltherm FM Pipe Insulation off ers a European Reaction to Fire
classifi cation of BL,s1,d0, the best available for phenolic insulation. The product has been developed to provide optimum insulation
effi ciency. Kingspan Kooltherm FM Pipe Insulation is CFC/HCFC-free, thermally
effi cient and has thermal conductivities as low as 0.025 W/mK. Kingspan Kooltherm FM Pipe Insulation achieves Eurofi ns Indoor Air Comfort Gold certifi cation and a BRE Green Guide A+ rating.

Carel
Carel has announced that its entire c.pCO range of controllers has received BACnet B-BC certifi cation, confi rming the reliability of the communication protocols used. BACnet is the fi rst and only true open data interchange protocol for building automation. Certifi ed use of the BACnet protocol guarantees perfect interoperability between equipment and control devices for BMS systems made by diff erent manufacturers.
REFCO
REFCO’s new TAP wireless digital pressure and temperature gauge is a user friendly instrument to measure temperature and pressure from the low and high sides of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The compact set includes a pressure gauge and a K-type temperature clamp which is applicable for pipe diameters from 6mm to 41mm (1/4” to 1 5/8”).
Both devices are IOS and Android compatible and are connected quickly to pressure source and temperature measuring points. Measurements and calculation of superheat or subcooling can be shown on pressure gauge display or on your mobile device. There are over 50 refrigerant temperature pressure charts stored on the device. The refrigerant charts can be updated via Micro USB connection. If required, up to six TAP devices can be monitored simultaneously.
When fi nished, the recorded data can easily be sent via e-mail to the offi ce.
The TAP is delivered in a handy case and available either as single or double set.

Carel said: “We have decided to make investments to integrate our controllers with BACnet as standard. Having the entire c.pCO range of programmable controllers B-BC certifi ed means we can guarantee customers the highest reliability in effi cient, high- performance and technologically-advanced connected systems.” BACnet International is an organisation whose task is to continuously update and maintain protocol, while promoting its correct use across the building automation sector through interoperability testing, educational programs and promotional activities. Each member is encouraged to contribute resources and suggestions for the continuous evolution of the system. Mr Pesce continued: “We work very closely with BACnet International and have decided to become a Gold Member, underlining Carel’s commitment to the sector.”

Meaco
MeacoWall is the latest range from Meaco, part of its Platinum Range of commercial low energy dehumidifi ers. MeacoWall is wall-mounted and ideal for use in gyms, data centres, swimming pools, and storage applications.
Available in sizes 53L, 72L, and 103L, and just 202mm deep, the main
benefi ts of the range include reduced running costs and noise levels, better energy effi ciency, and a design that incorporates a front glass panel for a stylish look.
An incorporated DC fan motor that keeps noise levels to 44dB for the 53L model and just one decibel more for the 72L model. As a heat pump compressor dehumidifi er, all energy used in the drying process is returned to the space, delivering dry, warm air. Installation is fl exible with drainage from the right or left. An automatic hot gas defrost system allows use in cooler spaces, with performance right down to 10°C.
