SPOTLIGHT SO G V entilation Installer Training Scheme.

The NICEIC scheme lasts two days and covers the fundamental principles of ventilation systems. This includes how to correctly design, install, test and service the four types of ventilation systems outlined in the building regulations and in a ccordance with the latest National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Minimum Technical Competency documents (MTC).

By passing the course and becoming a certifi NICEIC installer, electricians, plumbers and ventilation installers join a trusted network, adding a further level of credibility in ensuring effective indoor air quality for customers.

Fully operational ventilation system The Air Academy not only provides courses to ensure and improve eff ective installation but also acts as a state-of-the-art showroom, renovated to demonstrate that with a planned and integrated approach to air quality, modern technologies can contribute to signifi

ute to significantfi

improvements in indoor air quality and reduced energy bills.

The particular system ventilating the Air

Academy is the Duplexvent Multi-eco, an MVHR u nit specifically tailored to ventilating commercial

and becoming a certifie dfi buildings. The unit

effectively ventilates at up to 2139 l/sec whilst recovering 85% of

o therwise wasted heat. V entilating at only 800W, t he system ensures an extremely low running rate Specifi c Fan Power (SFP) of approximately 1.27 W/l/s, allowing for greater energy effi

fficiency

and reducing energy bills. V ariable Air Volume ( VAV) Damper Control systems were also installed to provide the facility with zonal,

d emand-based ventilation, without the additional c osts of a Building Management System (BMS). T herefore, occupancy levels, temperature, air quality and energy consumption are constantly monitored to ensure the facility provides the healthiest quality of air whilst remaining energy effi ient .

ffic The Air Academy has been designed to demonstrate the ease with which a commercial

building can be retrofitted to provide an eff a nd energy efficient ventilation solution while s howcasing Airfl ow’s extensive range of products. Additionally, the Air Academy provides and highlights the importance of eff ctive and correct installation by providing an in- depth understanding of ventilation best

ffectiv e the importance of eff ffe

practices through the variety of training courses available.
