PRODUCT NEWS set free vrf with off coil temperature control LG
LG has launched a new range of wall-mounted air conditioning units with embedded wi-fi and compatibility with its multi-split range. The range includes the Artcool Mirror, Deluxe and Standard Plus models. Artcool and Deluxe models are equipped with Plasmaster Ionizer Plus fi lters, to reduce harmful microscopic particles. All are fast to install and operate from 19Db for fast heating and jet
cooling.
LG’s Active Energy Control adjusts energy consumption levels by controlling maximum frequency of the compressor motor. It allows you to choose between a default 100% available system capacity, to meet high load conditions, to 40% relative energy usage if the load is lowered. This off ers in-built, remote energy usage fl exibility. Smart diagnosis allows users to check installation, trouble-shooting and other information from a smartphone via the LG Smart ThinQ App. A 25% larger skew fan and an outdoor unit fan create high-effi ciency cooling and heating.
www.lg.com Swegon
Swegon’s Parasol is an active chilled beam, but in modular format with four-way distribution and adjustability of air volume and direction on all sides.
This means that It has all the features and energy benefi ts of a chilled beam, along with the fl exibility of a fan coil. Adjustability of both air volume and direction on all four sides gives Parasol the fl exibility that chilled beams having certainly been lacking in the past.
With no fan, Parasol runs silently and consumes no fan power. Running at higher chilled water temperatures, the chiller providing chilled water to Parasol runs more effi ciently, and can also be designed to provide free cooling during a large proportion of the year. With a dry coil, there is no need for a fi lter in the unit, meaning that maintenance is therefore reduced. Additionally, with no moving parts, there is nothing to break down.
A new model in Swegon’s Parasol range has now been launched. Parasol Zenith adds another dimension to the already impressive fl exibility of the existing range, off ering more scope for connection positions, additional unit sizes, and a much wider working range and higher capacity.
RABScreen
RABScreen has launched its new website, providing in-depth information as to how companies can save energy, time and money through the installation of RABScreen external fi lter screens to air movement equipment. There are dedicated sections on chillers, air handling units and cooling towers, enabling users to see which versions to use. The benefi ts are enormous, as a 1mm layer dirt layer on coil fi ns can reduce effi ciency by 21% and increase energy use by as much as 30%. The ‘Knowledge Base’ tab includes FAQs, with data on the benefi ts of RABScreen external fi lters and the eff ects on airfl ow, as well as the diff erent types, sizes and shapes of RABScreen available. In addition to a blog, the website’s ‘News’ section features case studies showing the successful application of RABScreen used in chillers, on cooling towers, within the NHS and at recycling centres. There is also a ‘Resource’ section which is devoted to the range of options which are available to installers. Mounting methods vary, ranging from stainless steel grommets and magnetic mounting clips, to Velcro fastenings and bungee cords. Rigid frames can be used in conjunction with a galvanised slide bed for easy maintenance, and frames can be fi tted with magnetic strip.

Hoshizaki
The Emerald Class range of ice-makers from Hoshizaki has been further extended. Hoshizaki is pleased to announce that there are now 17 Emerald Class models across both IM and FM ice machines available in the UK.
These machines deliver the same outstanding quality, performance and consistency, yet Emerald
Class has no eff ect on ozone depletion and negligible global warming potential.
There are other advantages in choosing a Hoshizaki Emerald Class HC machine. Hydrocarbon refrigerants are more eff ective in conducting heat, so the machines consume less energy and are cheaper to operate. Hydrocarbon also reduces the operating temperature in the ice maker’s compressor, extending longevity.
All Emerald Class HC machines are priced as per their HFC counterparts.
