FEATURE REPORT PRODUCT NEWS set free vrf with off coil temperature control Bitzer

Bitzer has published a YouTube video explaining how to design, confi gure and commission its Varipack frequency inverters. Users require the Bitzer

software, BEST software and a BEST interface converter or ethernet cable. Once the Varipack has been installed and wired, it can be commissioned and confi gured. The Varipack frequency inverters off er an intuitive commissioning process, adjusting to suit cooling demands and reducing energy consumption and costs. The coordination of compressor and frequency inverter saves additional energy and increases effi ciency. The external Varipack frequency inverters are additionally designed for modern motor concepts, including the Bitzer Ecoline+ reciprocating compressors.

The Varipack series is suitable for refrigeration systems, air conditioning systems and heat pumps. The Bitzer software enables application-specifi c selection of the frequency inverter, while the BEST software promotes easy operation and monitoring. www.bitzer.de

ECEX

ECEX has unveiled an easy-fi t version of its Air Intake Screens, using powerful magnets to enable quick installation in sensitive areas.

ECEX Air Intake Screens are long-lasting external protection fi lters

that fi t on air handling units, chillers, dry air coolers, condensers, cooling towers, air intakes and other HVAC systems. They are made from easy-clean polymer mesh which traps airborne debris. ECEX’s high strength Magna-Track mounting system eliminates the need for drilling and makes it possible to mount ECEX Air Intake Screens using neodymium magnets. Installation liability is reduced by eliminating risks associated with drilling and screw fi xing. Magna-Track is compatible with both ECEX’s PVC and anodised aluminium track. ECEX Air Intake Screens can dramatically cut the risk of breakdown to externally-sited HVAC equipment, as they are external pre-fi lters that sit in front of essential HVAC equipment acting as a fi lter for pollen, insects and other particulates.

Honeywell Foster

Foster has launched its FS Series range of ice makers, using new technology to off er customers the highest quality product. For use in food service kitchens

and behind the bar, the range is environmentally friendly and off ers the buyer a tangible investment.

A key element that sets the FS Series apart is the spray system and patented ice cube shape. The spray system produces crystal clear ice cubes, while the patented shape means the ice cubes last longer. In addition, the new range is fi tted with a number of features to improve energy effi ciency.

Roy Marsden, product manager for Foster said: “The new ice makers use 70% less water than previous models. Manufactured using top quality stainless steel, the highly insulated ice bin also improves effi ciency by minimising the loss of cold air.”

This range is the latest in Foster’s steps to lead the industry in terms of innovation and environmental responsibility. The full range is available in a number of sizes and capacities, with an ergonomic space- saving design, and is quieter than ever.

Honeywell has announced a new, cost-eff ective method for customers to test the capabilities of its sensors, allowing for faster and more effi cient component decisions and a speedier product development process.

With the new sensor evaluation kits, engineers can perform a thorough evaluation of Honeywell’s TruStability™ pressure sensor series without needing to develop additional software code or spin a new printed circuit board.

The kits allow for easier demonstrating and evaluating of Honeywell’s TruStability RSC series, as well as the digital output versions of the HSC series and SSC series board mount pressure sensors. Engineers can use the kits, along with free Honeywell software, to interface with an Arduino™ Uno Rev3 microcontroller board. Sensor measurements are displayed on the user’s computer and can be recorded for further analysis.

The sensors can be mounted directly on the development kits, or, alternatively, they can be connected remotely via wire leads. Honeywell’s board mount pressure sensors measure air/gas and liquid pressure with high accuracy and are often used in medical devices, such as ventilators, as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning products.
