With less than seven months to go, the UK’s only dedicated exhibion for the refrigeraon, air condioning, venlaon, heang and heat pump sectors is over 70% sold. The HVAC & Refrigeraon Show is expected to shape and define the future of the industry, driving eciency throughout the supply chain and providing a muchneeded plaorm for innovaon and debate. Visitors from a wide range of sectors, including building services, central/local government, retail, leisure, hospitality, transport, manufacturing, healthcare, educaon, ulies and more will be there to see leading companies exhibing top brand products and get advice on aordable and ecient soluons. In addion to sourcing new products and services,
visitors will have access to a range of new and excing feature areas. Taking place in the new Business Hub the hotly
ancipated ‘Industry Insight Series’ of debates on key issues will be presented by a leading panel of guests, from smart cies programmes looking at future designs, to construcon companies facing new design challenges and supermarkets highlighng new approaches to chilled food retailing. Visitors will have the opportunity to ask the panel quesons and connue their discussions in one of the Show’s many networking areas aerwards. VIP networking lunches and events will also be hosted in the Business Hub over the course of the threeday exhibion. What’s more, the Show will see the launch of the
naonal SkillFRIDGE/WorldSkills UK compeon series, sponsored by Toshiba, with opportunies for industry to visit the compeon zone to meet apprences and judges, and discuss future involvement.
Learning & Development The Training and Skills Theatre, also sponsored by
Toshiba, will oer a threeday seminar programme with speakers invited from UK and European associaons, together with presentaons from WorldSkills UK. The Instute of Refrigeraon’s annual conference will also take place in the theatre on the last day of the show. The HVACR Theatre is new for 2018 and will feature
cung edge talks from a range of manufacturers with a series of case studies presented and problems solved through informaon sharing and debate over the course

of the three days. Toshiba will give three talks at the Show – one on
each day. Topics include: approaching a project using VRF systems; applicaon of SEER and SCOP energy eciencies; and natural and mechanical cooling systems.
Daikin Applied UK is to talk about chiller technology
and eciency, giving aendees an overview of the chiller technology available covering the key components that go into the manufacture of both air cooled and water cooled chillers. Chiller product manager, James Henley explains: “We will review the dierent technologies available for the main components and how these components can aect the chiller footprint, noise levels, cost and most importantly the unit eciency. “We will also give a detailed explanaon of the
dierent types of eciency measures on the market covering chiller design consideraons, such as which unit inclusions should be considered and complete the chiller review with a discussion on future of refrigerants and new legislaon including ECOdesign changes.” Fujitsu has published its talk tles too: ‘Controls are
Key’ and ‘R32: Time to Change’. In the first, visitors will be given an insight to the various ways in which HVAC Controls are key for comfort, eciency and reliability, while in the second, it will look at how R32 has been developed to reduce GWP and improve system eciency.
