Day in the life Jumping for joy

Jump Arena operate family-friendly trampoline parks. Franchisee Paul Clarke describes a typical day in his business

Michael Cruz

6.00am

I start my day with a nice run in the country; this always energises me for the day ahead. Then after a shower and breakfast I’m on my way to the arena.

8.00am

I arrive at the arena and complete building work immediately. I assess which tasks need to be completed and start to plan for the day ahead. I check my emails and go through the previous evening’s end-of-day reports.

9.00am

The team and I complete the daily health and safety checks for the trampoline park and identify any potential issues. We then hold a short 10-minute briefi ng that is vital for the day’s activities.

10.00am

The doors open and our toddler session starts. We have special guest appearances from Superman and Batman. It’s wonderful

5.00pm

The evening bookings are coming in thick and fast. It’s the afternoon

to see the children’s faces light up when they see their favorite superhero!

12.00pm

The day is now in full swing, the music is playing, and the children and parents are having a great time. The team and I look at sales generated so far, and decide if we need to look at increasing our advertising. A walk of the arena to ensure every aspect of the park is perfect from service levels to cleanliness always follows this.

3.00pm

At this time we get our usual after-school attendance. This is always a busier part of the day, and I have to make sure we are in full control of the arena and our customers are well served. This is also shift change for our late-to-early manager so a full briefi ng of the day and the day ahead takes place.

rush before dinnertime. I ensure that our hotplate is stocked with delicious pizza so children and adults can enjoy a treat straight after their bounce.

7.00pm-7.45pm I complete a fi nal walk around the arena with my team, ensure tasks set have been completed, and check if the late manager needs to see to any issues that evening.

8.00pm

I go to my local health club to work out then spend time in the sauna and steam room to gather my thoughts. After that, it’s home to cook a healthy tasty meal, and answer any emails.

10.00pm Time for bed! I take magnesium every night before bed to help my muscles recover and ensure I get a great night’s sleep.
