he business-to-business (B2B) services sector can include a wide range of franchise opportunities from cost- reduction consultancies to
commercial cleaning to property searches and even creative industries such as website development and branding.
The advantages of this industry
are numerous, not least because the commercial nature of this sector means it provides a fairly reliable, stable and captive marketplace, especially for the right service provider. Often the franchisor will have strong connections with other brand names and industries so that
ActionCOACH Julie McLaughlin
Julie McLaughlin previously worked in small businesses and the public sector before she joined Royal Bank of Scotland focusing on project and change management. In 2015 she joined ActionCOACH to make changes that would benefit herself and her community
What support and training do ActionCOACH provide you with? I continue to work with my coach’s coach, we discuss my direction and plans and agree on the actions I will take between now and our next session. Exactly as I do with my own clients! I also take part in as many of the 70 annual days of networking, training and support that ActionCOACH deliver as I’m able to.
Any highlights or stand-out memorable moments so far?
The biggest highlight for me is that I’ve used the ActionCOACH Business Growth System on my partner’s own furniture design business and he’s gone from having a ‘job’ to running a business with four staff. I was also thrilled when my first client completed 12 months of coaching and his accounts showed an increase in turnover of 25 per cent and profit of 52 per cent!
What are the benefits of working in this sector? There are the obvious benefits such as flexibility and being your own boss but
with ActionCOACH it goes a lot deeper than that. The potential of this business knows no bounds. It can be as large or as niche as you want it to be – it really is up to you. It supports my lifestyle and other commitments. My daughter only started school in 2016 and I can’t imagine having to juggle an ‘office job’ with school pick up and drop off and all the other things that are happening in my life right now!
franchisees can hit the ground running. Another attractive aspect is that many B2B operations don’t require high-street premises, which holds appeal for those looking to work mostly from home and strike a harmonious work-life balance. These, and many other franchise benefits, are found in the following success stories.
“The potential of this business knows no bounds it can be as large or niche as you want”
What are your plans for the future? My ultimate goal is to work with 12 one- to-one clients in three and a half days a week. Working a shorter week means I can focus more on family life, as well as to have more fun and live life on my terms!
