25 Digital transformation in emerging economies


In its 2022 Global Risks Report, the World Economic Forum noted that despite a growing dependency on digital systems, cybersecurity threats are impacting public trust in digital systems and are increasing costs for all stakeholders.


This is especially so for emerging economies that are starting from a lower base in their digital development and often lack the infrastructure that can provide security and resilience.
