The distinct style for the wall treatment in the local area is weather- board cladding as stand alone or in combination


with either rendered walls or brick walls.


Existing Electric Sub Station


Surrounding areas predominantly rural in nature, however some areas do exhibit a mix of rural and urban due to existing sub station,


transmission lines and pylons.


Views from receptors are restricted by existing woodland and hedgerows. Mitigation planting and bund helps in additional screening. The ridge lines, roof and the top sections of the shed are likely to be visible though.

Different architectural styles and materials for external facades for residential areas, recreational buildings, barn conversions and barns was observed during the site visit in local area.


Contemporary barn buildings are generally clad in steel. The cladding are either vertical or horizontal. However many of the recent developments have traditional weather- boarding. (eg waterfront café near Bramford)
