All landscaping works would be carried out in accordance with the landscape management scheme, unless otherwise agreed in writing by the relevant planning authority, and to a reasonable standard in accordance with the relevant recommendations of appropriate British Standards or other recognised codes of good practice. The specific standards are to be agreed with Mid Suffolk District Council, Suffolk Coastal District Council and Suffolk County Council prior to commencement.
Converter Station Onsite Landscaping 29
A specific Landscaping Management Scheme would be developed for the onverter Station, which would include a scheme of onsite landscaping constituting mounding and planting. Indicative plans for mounding and planting sections have been taken into account in the assessment in the ES as part of embedded mitigation. An indicative plan of planting and mounding was provided with the original application as an appendix to Document 9.5 Outline Landscape Strategy (Nov 2012).

Final details of the onsite mounding and planting for the Converter Station would be developed prior to construction, as part of the landscaping management scheme under Requirement 19 of the DCO. These details would be agreed with the relevant planning authority. The landscaping management scheme for the Converter Station would include:
Drawings indicating mounding cross-section with long cross-sections to include typical elevations of the Converter Station. These drawings would also indicate proposed floor levels and proposed contours
A detailed scheme of tree and shrub planting and aftercare. This would include details of soil restoration and ground preparation, species choice, stock size, spacing, protection and a program of weed control and aftercare to cover a period of 10 years. The merits of a self-watering system using greywater from the site would be considered
A scheme of protection to demonstrate how new tree and hedge planting would be protected against deer, rabbits/hares etc. The detail would also indicate a variety of access gates within the detail for badgers or other creatures that may have, for instance, established routes through the restored areas
Details of local provenance suppliers of plant material for inclusion within the specification
