22.7.1 Potential Cumulative Impacts during Construction 185. Under the two scenarios for the construction of East Anglia ONE, East Anglia THREE and East Anglia FOUR projects, either:
Cumulative scenario 1 - East Anglia ONE is constructed and installs ducts for East Anglia THREE and East Anglia FOUR followed by reinstatement of selected terrestrial habitats (e.g. hedges). East Anglia THREE cables are pulled through and later East Anglia FOUR cables are pulled through; or
Cumulative scenario 2 - East Anglia THREE is constructed and installs ducts for East Anglia FOUR followed by reinstatement of selected terrestrial habitats (e.g. hedges). East Anglia FOUR cables later are pulled through.
186. Under either scenario the first project would undertake major preparatory works for the following project therefore cumulative impacts would arise from cable pulling and jointing operations (and construction of jointing pits) and the construction of the converter stations. For the cumulative impact therefore the first project to be built will have the greatest magnitude of impact with subsequent projects having smaller and more localised overall impact magnitudes (at the jointing pits, access points to these and at the converter station location).
187. The area covered by the onshore electrical transmission works including access would be reinstated / replanted after construction of the first project (with the exception of the permanent structures at the converter station locations at which habitat is permanently lost).
188. In summary, it is expected that the cumulative impacts of construction would be similar for both Scenario 1 and Scenario 2, noting that under Scenario 1 there would be three projects and under Scenario 2 two projects. In both scenarios, the footprint of the first project would be 193.2ha, of which 101.8ha would be revisited by each subsequent project during construction.. The impacts of construction of the first project would be as per Scenario 2 (from section 22.6) with cumulative impacts from a further one or two projects with impacts as per Scenario 1 (from section 22.6) each
189. The majority of major schemes listed in Table 22.14 have no spatial overlap with the East Anglia THREE onshore electrical transmission works including access.
22.7.1.1 Cumulative Impact 1: Land taken out of existing use 190. For construction of the first project construction would take place for up to 10 weeks at landfall, up to 44 weeks along the onshore cable route and up to 55 weeks at the converter station location. All land would be reinstated with exception of the permanent structures at the converter station compound. Following this, sections of
