Cost-effective wireless nurse call
The wireless HTM nurse call system from UK manufacturer, Alarm Radio Monitoring, (ARM) has been developed in line with HTM 08-03 requirements ‘to provide a more cost-effective alternative to wired systems’. ARM said: “Wireless nurse call systems offer a major advantage over hard-wired systems due to the fast, efficient installation and future flexibility they offer.” ARM’s system includes visual and audible signals as specified within HTM 08-03; wireless indicator lights/sounders alert staff of a call/emergency situation. Nurse call points feature a large ‘patient-to-nurse’ level call button, and a red emergency

‘pull to activate’ switch for emergency situations (with blue cardiac switches for ICU).
Nurse call points with integral pull cords and ceiling-mounted pull cords are available for toilets and bathrooms, while drug cabinets/stores can also be monitored. For refurbishment of existing systems, ‘all-in-one’ backplates – incorporating bedside light switch and power socket – are available in various sizes, enabling rapid replacement of existing nurse call systems embedded into bedhead services.
Healthcare facilities can further benefit by combining the ARM staff alarm and nurse call systems.
HefmA, one of the UK’s leading member associations representing NHS estates and facilities professionals, will be exhibiting at this year’s flagship IHEEM event, promoting the professional management of healthcare services. The association said: “Visit stand H42 to meet with the editorial team of HefmA Pulse, the organisation’s official publication, who will be on hand to welcome delegates and discuss the latest issues, policies, and standards within the healthcare industry. Our team will also be looking to expand the association’s membership to estates and facilities specialists; benefits include attendance at regular branch meetings, conferences, and training days. New members will also gain access to the HefmA website and HefmA Pulse.” The HefmA team will also be discussing some of the plans for next year’s HefmA 2017 Conference & Exhibition. “Don’t miss your chance to connect with us at the exhibition; we look forward to seeing you there,” the Association added.
