Rapid, ‘on call’ delivery of handwash units

In support of infection control departments and health estates managers, a ‘unique, fast response service’ – the TEAL Task Force (TTF) – has been created to help tackle medical and water emergencies immediately with a ‘next day’ delivery of hired, portable, handwash units.

TEAL Patents – a leading manufacturer of portable handwash units that require no access to mains water or drainage – will showcase the TTF, which it claims is ‘ideal when units need to be hired at short notice because of an infection outbreak or plumbing issues’. The keystone of the TTF is the Stop n’Wash unit – designed ‘to educate and encourage the correct handwash procedure’. Created in partnership with infection control departments, the unit includes a synchronised video display taking users, step-by-step, through the seven handwashing actions laid down by NHS guidelines. The hired units are

delivered and installed by TTF qualified personnel who ensure that they are ready to use. TEAL also trains relevant members of the NHS team, such as hospital estates departments, on how to use and maintain their units.

‘Cloud-based’ building management tool

Building control specialist, Priva, will showcase BI Metrics – a cloud-based building management solution, powered by Microsoft Azure, and designed ‘to give staff secure, remote access to multiple building systems from anywhere, enabling healthcare estates staff to be more responsive and agile’. Priva said: “Importantly, BI Metrics provides accurate building performance analysis, as well as ensuring that the indoor climate is fully optimised for the comfort of patients and staff. This improved insight is shown to save organisations up to 20% on their energy bill.”

Directly complementing BI Metrics,

Priva will also demonstrate its online energy management package, TC Energy – ‘which helps organisations understand and optimise their energy usage’, and its

delivery for the majority of pipeline materials.” Visitors to the company’s stand will be able to see ‘new, restyled products to suit modern hospital designs’, including manifolds, digital alarms, and AVSU modules, ‘bringing medical gas pipeline equipment into line with increasing architectural design and compatibility for a safe and stylish patient environment’.

Exceeding legislative demands

Specialist in fire, smoke, and air control products, Ruskin Air Management (Actionair), says it is proud that ‘due to its commitment in testing and quality’, it is ‘seen as the number one in the marketplace’. The company said: “It is all too easy to think of HVAC systems as only being found in major buildings, whether residential, business, or industrial. Most, if not all of these projects, provide Actionair with ample opportunity to demonstrate the significance of our innovative, proven product ranges. Life safety is the ultimate motivation behind our ongoing R&D and testing.” The Ruskin Test Centre in Whitstable provides ‘state of the art facilities’, exceeding the requirements of BSEN12238:2001 (for air terminal device aerodynamic testing and rating for mixed flow applications). “All our products meet the latest European standards and regulations, while the depth of research and testing that goes into the design and manufacture of dampers and fancoil units ensures that the majority exceed the legislative demands,” the company added.
