LOTTERY Te new Gambling Act provides a clause for
both private lotteries and a national lottery. Private lotteries may only operate on a non profit basis whilst the establishment of a national lottery has been initiated with the aim of funding cultural and sports programs but as yet is not in operation. Te Botswana Gambling Authority recently
invited mobile phone operators and stakeholders interested in conducting SMS based lotteries to a meeting in March Tere are no online licensed lottery sites in
Botswana due to the lack of regulation and at the moment Botswana residents can participate in any international online lottery draws.
