HEALTHCARE HYGIENE FRESH OUT THE OX With its special range of healthcare-focused products, Diversey Care is in an optimal position to
provide cleaning and infection prevention services in the healthcare market. Here, we learn more about the company’s extensive Oxivir line of products.
Diversey Care was one of the first cleaning and hygiene specialists to recognise the disinfection performance of patented AHP when it incorporated this unique active ingredient into some of its healthcare products almost a decade ago. Innovative formulations containing AHP from the company’s extensive range of infection prevention products include Oxivir Excel cleaner- disinfectant and Oxivir Sporicide ready- to-use liquid surface disinfectant.
“Diversey Care offers
products, training and expertise to support
hand hygiene in facilities around the world.”
Disinfectants containing AHP are highly effective against a wide range of viruses, spores, yeasts, and fungi found in healthcare settings, including Clostridium difficile (C. diff), MRSA, Norovirus, E. coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This broad-spectrum efficacy has been tested to the latest EN standards.
The active AHP ingredient degrades to oxygen and water alone shortly after use which helps make the product safer to use than chlorine- based products, which are suspected of aggravating asthma and forming chlorine compounds in the atmosphere. It also means that products can be used on a wider range of surfaces, including wool and other fabrics, with reduced risk of damage.
AHP is the active ingredient in established Diversey Care products including Oxivir Excel, a fast-acting cleaner-disinfectant for routine and daily tasks. This advanced product offers improvements such as efficacy at lower concentration, lower cost- in-use and faster contact times than the product it replaced. It is available

in a number of formats including the company’s highly sustainable ultra- concentrate SmartDose platform.
Another popular product is Oxivir Sporicide, a ready-to-use liquid surface disinfectant that is ideal for rapid- response applications such as the removal of blood and body fluid spills. This is effective against Clostridium Difficile within one minute, meeting demand for highly effective products with shorter contact or dwell times.
Oxivir Wipes containing AHP are another new addition to the Oxivir range with Oxivir Excel and Oxivir Sporicide. These are convenient, ready-to-use disposable wipes.
In addition to its Oxivir range, Diversey Care offers a complete set of disinfectants and sanitisers with proven infection prevention performance in healthcare and similar applications. The wide choice of products available allows customers to specify the formulations that are ideal for their particular requirements.
Diversey Care also offers products, training and expertise to support hand hygiene in facilities around the world. The company’s Soft Care range,

for example, includes soaps and hand-washes for regular washroom applications that are formulated to be effective and economical while being gentle and pleasant to use.
The range includes formulations for applications where hand disinfection is required. Soft Care Des E H5, for example, is a hand-rub disinfectant with a unique blend of ethanol and moisturisers. It is ideal for healthcare but also provides excellent protection in any kind of setting against Norovirus,
E.coli, Influenza, rotavirus, hepatitis B, HIV, MRSA and many other common infections.
