CLEANING SHOW REVIEW

a post-Brexit world, Dan Weltin, who made the trip over from the US to discuss the top emerging trends in the industry, or Darren Marston, who used his own experience with robotics at ICE to discuss how this sci-fi revolution will affect the cleaning world.

Elsewhere, there were several talks aimed at helping cleaning companies to boost their profile, as Suzanne Howe of Suzanne Howe Communications shared some tips on increasing your social media presence, while Chris Klopper of Mulberry Marketing Communications, told visitors of the benefits that can come from having a strong PR campaign – and the importance of reputation.

As the old saying goes, ‘you learn something new every day’, and this was clearly in evidence at this year’s Cleaning Show.

AWARDS SEASON

Alongside the informative presentations, one of the main draws to the seminar theatre was the announcement of the 2017 Cleaning Show Innovation Award winners. A team of judges spent day one of the show inspecting all the shortlisted products on display, before making their decision and presenting the awards at the close of play. It drew a large crowd to the seminar theatre as the winners for each of the eight categories were announced.

The winners for this year’s Cleaning Show Innovation Awards were:

Best Cleaning Product – Quick and Easy by Arrow County Supplies

Best Floor Cleaning Product – for the first time awarded to two winners ICE with the ICE R Scrub 75 and Nilfisk for their Liberty A50

Best Outdoor Cleaning Product – Easy!Force and Easy!Lock by Kärcher

Best Carpet Cleaning Product – Valet Battery Upright by Truvox

Best Window Cleaning Product – Stringray Indoor Cleaning System by Unger

Best Washroom Hygiene Product – Interchangable Dispensers by Dolphin Solutions

Best Sustainable Cleaning Product – Eco Silver Paper by Eco Silver Paper

Best Management System – ICE Locator by ICE

These weren’t the only awards presented during the show either, as in a special presentation at the Excel’s Bridge Restaurant, the CSSA held its inaugural awards ceremony, while the Federation of Window Cleaners held a special awards presentation in the seminar theatre.
