WINNER: CATEX In 2014 CATEX came first with a respectable lead over then-second-placed Oracle. In 2015 CATEX is still first, with a score of 6.98, ahead of eReinsure, which is now ranked second with a score of 5.50 and which was eighth in the rankings in 2014. Third place is taken by Xchanging, with a score of 5.44, the same place on the leader board that it was at in 2014, and Ultimate


Risk Solutions climbs from sixth to fourth place with a 2015 score of 5.41. Oracle is fifth with a score of 5.28, having been second in 2014 and SAS drops to sixth with a score of 5.22. Seventh place is taken by Guidewire at 5.18 and eighth place by Ebix, having fallen three places in the rankings from 2014.


CATEX was formed in 1994 as a reinsurance risk exchange (The CATEX Global Exchange). By its own admission the company has


been immersed in the search for more efficient reinsurance and insurance premium and claims processing since its founding. Oracle has been in the news quite a bit this year, especially as it announced that it was expanding its ongoing lawsuit against


Google over allegations that the latter’s Android operating system uses lines of code from Oracle’s own programming language Java.
