WINNER: RenaissanceRe


The merger of Catlin and XL removed two of the entrants to the 2014 list from this year’s rankings, and 2015 this category was won by RenaissanceRe with a score, based on the methodology listed below, of 190 and up from the seventh place it took in 2014 (with a score of 75).


Joint second place was taken by Amlin with a score of 160, up from the fourth place it gained in 2014, when it had a score of 130


and also by Arch Re, up from fifth place in 2014. QBE Re climbed from eighth place in 2014 to fourth this year, with a score of 110, just in front of AXIS Re with its own score of 105.


AXIS Re was in second place in the 2014 rankings with a score of 150. Hiscox rose from 12th place in 2014 to sixth place this year with a score of 90, followed by Tokio Millennium Re on seventh place


with a score of 60 and ACE Tempest Re on eighth with a score of 50. Liberty Specialty Markets comes ninth with a score of 45, up from its 10th place in 2014, followed by Allianz with a score of 30,


Endiurance Re with a score of 25 and Aspen Re with a score of 20. Canopius, Sirius International and Validus Re are all level at 13th place with a score of 15 and finally Barbican and Markel Re are


joint 16th with a score of 5.

third, etc, down to tenth place. Companies that performed well in more categories had the chance to gain more points than those that did not feature in all.
