XL’s purchase of Catlin means that last year’s top ranked company in this category, Catlin Re, is no longer eligible. Instead this year RenaissanceRe takes first place with a score of 6.78 out of 10, having been sixth in 2014. In second place is Arch Re with a score of 6.62 out of 10, again up on its position last year, when it came fifth. Third place is taken
by Hiscox with a score of 6.48, up six places on its 2014 ranking of ninth. Tokio Millennium Re rises from eighth place in 2014 to fourth place this year with a score of 6.30, with Amlin, which was third last
year, just behind it with a score of 6.26. AXIS Re falls from fourth place last year to sixth place in 2015 with a score of 6.15 out of 10. QBE makes a new appearance in this category coming in at seventh with a score of 6.04. Endurance Re rises from 12th place last
year to eighth place this year with a score of 5.98 and Canopius also rises from 11th place in 2014 to ninth this year with a score 5.87.
Liberty Specialty Markets is 10th, not having appeared in the 2014 rankings, with a score of 5.77 and the last two places are taken
by Aspen Re, which was 10th last year, with a score of 5.66 and finally ACE Tempest Re, which was seventh in 2014, with a score of 5.65 out of 10.
