Best Reinsurer for Client Service (GWP of less than $2bn)

There were 12 entrants for the category of best reinsurer for client service (with a gross written premium of less than $2 billion) and this year’s rankings saw some significant changes from 2014. XL’s purchase of Catlin means that last year’s top ranked company in this category, Catlin Re, is no longer eligible. First in the 2015
rankings was Hiscox, with a score of 7.00 out of 10, up on its 10th place position in 2014. Second place falls to RenaissanceRe, up from seventh place in 2014 with a score of 6.70, just ahead of Amlin which remains in third place with a score 6.63.
Arch Re rises one ranking from fifth in 2014 to fourth with a score of 6.51, with AXIS Re close behind on 6.48 out of 10, down on
its second place ranking in 2014. QBE was not in last year’s rankings but comes sixth this year with a score of 6.39 out of10, ahead of Liberty Specialty Markets
which rises one ranking with a score of 6.28. Validus Re rises from 11th place in 2014 to just below Liberty Specialty Markets at eighth this year with a score of 6.27.
Ninth place is taken by Aspen Re with a score of 6.22, down on its sixth place finish in 2014 and Canopius is 10th with a score of
6.19, down slightly on its ninth place in 2014. ACE Tempest Re’s score of 6.00 sees it fall from fourth place in 2014 to 11th place this year and finally CCR once again takes the
12th spot with a score of 5.19 out of 10.
