Best Reinsurer for Ability to Pay Claims (GWP of less than $2bn)

Once again the two leading reinsurers in this category in 2014 are not in this year’s rankings, with Catlin Re and XL Re being removed due to their merger. First in the rankings for this year is Amlin with a score of 7.10 out of 10, having risen from sixth place in the 2014 listings. Second
is RenaissanceRe with a score of 7.00, again up from last year, when it was ninth in the rankings. Third in the ranking for this year is QBE Re with a score of 6.88 out of 10, up from its fourth place in the 2014 listings. Arch Re
is fourth with a score of 6.81, up from seventh position in 2014, followed by Allianz Re with a score of 6.76, another company that makes its first appearance after not appearing in the 2014 listings for this category.
In sixth place is Tokio Millennium Re with a score of 6.66, up from10th place in 2014, while ACE Tempest Re is in seventh place with
a score of 6.58 out of 10, down two places since the 2014 rankings. AXIS Re comes eighth in the rankings with a score of 6.56 out of 10, down five places from its position in the 2014 rankings, while
Aspen Re slips a place down to ninth with a score of 6.49. Barbican is up a place at 10th with a score of 6.45, closely followed by Liberty Specialty Markets which breaks into this category
for the first time with a score of 6.43. Finally unchanged in 12th place is CCR, with a score of 6.02.
