WINNER: Clyde & Co


The winner of the coveted title of best law firm is Clyde & Co, which also came first in 2014. Its score of 6.41 places it ahead of Holman Fenwick & Willan in second place with a score of 6.17, which also came second in 2014. The rankings below this show some changes when compared with the previous year. Third is Goldberg Segalla with a score of 6.07,


only just ahead of Norton Rose with 6.03. In 2014 their positions were reversed, with Norton Rose third and Goldberg Segalla fourth. Fifth place is taken by Clifford Chance with a score of 5.93 and sixth place by Ince & Co with a score of 5.75, followed by DLA Piper


with a score of 5.69. These three companies were in the same places in 2014. However, Appleby came eighth with a score of 5.56, up a place from the previous year.


Clyde & Co was founded in 1933 and now has 1,500 lawyers in offices all over the world. In 2014 it opened new offices in


Johannesburg, Cape Town and Brisbane. In June of this year it announced an 8 percent increase in revenue to £395 million ($620 million), with average profit per equity partner (PEP) up by 10 percent to £660,000 ($1 million).
