Probe Polishing Process Reduces Carryover by up to Seventy Five Per Cent The DP3®
polishing process from Diba
Industries, Inc improves the performance of stainless steel and other metallic probes used for IVD and diagnostic instruments. Diba’s proprietary process creates an extremely smooth and durable internal surface that reduces carry- over by up to seventy fi ve per cent.
DP3 polishing can greatly improve surface fi nish on the internal diameter (ID) of a probe. This reduces microscopic pits where process fl uids may collect, minimising the possibility of cross contamination. The surface improvement may also positively impact wash characteristics, thereby reducing cycle time and wash fl uid costs. Unlike similar processes, which apply a coating that can fl ake off over time, DP3 treatment results in an ID surface fi nish that is highly durable. The DP3 process is available on probes with inside diameters down to 0.016” in fl ush or angle-cut tip designs.
When coupled with Diba’s proprietary probe draw down process to reduce tip ID while maintaining a smooth inner surface, DP3 enables precise dispense and aspirate functions for the most demanding new more sensitive diagnostic reagents. Diba application engineers work closely with OEM instrument designers to customise probe manufacturing capabilities according to the needs of each instrument and application.

42060pr@reply-direct.com ADVERTORIAL KISS® Cooling and Heating Circulators
for Laboratory Applications from -30 to +200°C Huber Kältemaschinenbau presents the new KISS®
• KISS Circulators with USB, RS232 and OLED Display as standard • More than 50 models for heating and cooling from -30°C to +200°C • Highest safety standards according to class III/FL (DIN 12876)
The new KISS circulators are ideally suited for routine laboratory applications such as sample temperature control, analyses and material testing as well as the external temperature control of measuring devices and test setups. Customers can choose from over 50 models for heating and cooling. The list of equipment features has grown even longer with KISS. Apart from an RS232 interface, it now also has a USB interface as standard. Another new addition is a modern OLED display with intuitive menu navigation. The new white display can be read well at all times, even in brighter environments. Another advantage is the simultaneous display of actual temperature and set point value, as well as high/low temperature limit values. As a factory fi tted option, a connection socket for a Pt100 sensor can be fi tted. This permits the display (not control) e.g. of an external process temperature.
In line with the motto ‘Safe & Simple’, KISS devices offer easy operation and meet the highest standards in terms of safety. All models are equipped with an over temperature and low level protection according to Safety class III/FL (DIN 12876) and are thus also suited for fl ammable liquids. The circulation pump generates a capacity of 14 l/min; 0.25 bar on the pressure side and 10.5 l/min; 0.17 bar on the suction side and thus ensures optimal mixing and homogeneous temperatures. The temperature stability is ±0.05 Kelvin. A pump adapter for external applications is available as accessory.
The KISS range includes baths made of transparent polycarbonate (up to +100°C) or high-grade stainless steel (up to +200°C) as well as refrigeration circulators for working temperatures down to -30°C. The fi nishing touch to the range is a range of useful accessories like test tube racks, adjustable bases, bath covers, sensors, hoses and heat transfer liquids.
