House and Home

Tree wise, Mimosa, Acacia Longifolia. I prefer the longifolia (long leaf) variety as they are again easy to prune and shape, the flowers are a fantastic puff of yellow. Always keep your Mimosa in a free draining soil and as much as you should water any plant to help establish them, once they are going leave them alone as they can be prone to rot if they can get standing water around their feet.

There are many plants that are coming into bloom and you should try and enjoy them all.

Just as a last comment I wanted to thank Brian and Linda Lee, from the Orba valley who sent us a fantastic picture of their Flame Vine the Pyrostegia Venusta which was one of our plants of the month last month.
