DEALS & MERGERS IN BRIEF

Partnership highlights the need for speed

Qdos Contractor has announced a partnership with the contractor onboarding specialists HiredByMe, in an initiative which could see thousands of independent workers begin their work placements quicker. Built specifically for UK

contractors, HiredByMe's Document Hub helps contractors share legally-required documents in seconds with employers and agencies, to ensure the recruitment process is shortened. Seb Maley, CEO of Qdos

Contractor, said: "The average hiring time for a role in the UK is four weeks, which is too long. To truly reap the benefits of hiring contractors and plug skills gaps, employers need to be able to get contractors through the door and working.”

FieldCandy sold in pre-pack deal

Four jobs have been saved at Chesterfield-based FieldCandy after the company was sold out of administration by appointed

Cooper, was appointed administrator on 3 February, with a sale completed to Alfreton-based Hubaco.

Rachel McCahill, of Nelsons

Solicitors, led the legal advice for FieldCandy, with Fraser Cunningham of Smith Partnership providing legal advice to Hubaco. Despite the business being

sold out of administration and the jobs preserved, there is unlikely to be any dividends paid to creditors.

Dentists have more time for patients

Nottingham-based accountancy firm Page Kirk has advised on one of the first new deals between Denplan and local dental practices. The deal ensures that both partners have 50/50 ownership, but enables the dentist to retain day-to-day clinical management of the practice. The scheme offers peace of mind

to dentists by setting out the basis on which the remaining half-share of the practice will be valued. It also helps the practitioner enjoy their hard work and success by freeing up finances. Dr Colin Doody, of The Dental

Practice, in Dronfield Woodhouse, Sheffield, is an early beneficiary of the new Dental Partnership Programme which resulted from a strategic review from Simplyhealth, of which Denplan is a part. He said: “The help and advice

Page Kirk has given us has been excellent. Page Kirk is knowledgeable about the finances specific to dental practices and although this has been a new business model to everyone, they have been invaluable.”
