WE’VE GOT TASTE

Many of Wales’s top places to eat are members of Welsh Rarebits, writes Roger Thomas. Foodies will be familiar with the likes of Tyddyn Llan, The Bull, Felin Fach Griffin and Fairyhill to name but a few. But the taste revolution isn’t just confined to hotels and restaurants. Food producers, shops and markets are also bursting with flavour. Here are some of our favourites:

Bountiful Bodnant

The Bodnant Welsh Food Centre in the Conwy Valley, which opened a few years ago, has quickly become a major player on the food scene. Beautifully converted 18th-century farm buildings offer the complete foodie experience – go shopping for farm-fresh produce, see a honey bee exhibition, eat ‘rustic Welsh food with a modern twist’ at its restaurant and café, and brush up on your skills in the kitchen at the cookery school. And when you’ve had your fill, visit the National Trust’s Bodnant Garden (it’s next door).
