Llety Cynin is a working dairy and sheep farm, but you wouldn’t know it. This beautifully converted coach house has the style and facilities you’d expect at a top hotel – spacious luxury bedrooms offering all modern amenities plus a stunning leisure complex with indoor heated pool, spa, sauna and gym. It’s not the usual modest ‘excuse for a pool’, but a proper 40ft pool complete with counter current. All in all, it’s one of the best Great Little Places for families – and great value (especially since family rooms are available for up to five people). And it’s a true family business. Gwawr Davies is in charge, her mother looks after the leisure club while father gets on with the farming. It’s a very successful set up, with the awards to prove it. But Llety Cynin isn’t the kind of place that


rests on its laurels. Rooms have recently been refurbished with warm, well-chosen colours and fabrics in a ‘rustic chic’ style. Surrounded by peaceful fields and woodland, yet only minutes from the A40, it’s centrally located for Carmarthenshire, Cardiganshire and Pembrokeshire and a host of places to visit, including the National Botanic Garden, Oakwood Park, Tenby and Carmarthen Bay. Even closer to home, a path from the doorstep takes you to woodlands and riverbanks rich in wildlife throughout the year. There’s also fishing for wild sewin, salmon and trout on the River Cynin for guests who bring their own equipment. Locally, there’s a good choice of restaurants and inns.
