Your hosts, Roger and Emma Stevens are long standing members of Great Little Places. Their welcoming large Edwardian Country House is located in a semi rural position with outstanding views of the Cambrian Mountains, Epynt Hills and local Forests. Llanwrtyd Wells (the smallest town in Britain and renowned for unusual sports) is centrally located to the Royal Welsh Showground at Builth Wells, the Brecon Beacons and Llandovery. Roger, Chef/ Proprietor, showcases modern British food which he sources locally adding influences of wild and organic on the daily changing menu. And in the candle-lit restaurant you’ll be attentively served by Emma. Lasswade is an elegant period country house with a calming and homely atmosphere, a large drawing room with log fire, library and a relaxing setting
for afternoon tea or a pre-dinner aperitif. Lasswade has individually styled, comfortable en-suite bedrooms and amazing views, stylish refreshments and toiletries. Breakfast is served in the South facing Conservatory with its panoramic views, what better way to start your day? Lasswade is also an ethically run sustainable business with many national accolades and guests have access to their electric 32 amp charging point. Interestingly, it’s one of the few rural country houses that can be reached easily by public transport – in this case, the scenic Heart of Wales railway from Shrewsbury to Swansea. Llanwrtyd Wells is just 1 hour from Hereford, Hay on Wye, Brecon, Abergavenny and Aberystwyth. Local attractions include National Trust Houses/Gardens, The Elan Valley Dams, Aberglasney Gardens and the famous Red Kite Feeding Centre.
