If you want to be in Cardiff’s most fashionable district then Cathedral 73 is just the ticket. It’s on Cathedral Road bordering trendy Pontcanna and leafy Llandaff, yet within easy walking distance of the city centre. Surprisingly for a capital city, Cardiff is not that well-endowed with intimate boutique accommodation. It’s based at a tall, feature-filled Victorian townhouse that has been sympathetically restored with an eye to contemporary elegance and no-expense- spared high-end interior design – think chandeliers and cornices, then add urban chic and you’ll get the picture. The beds are either king or super-king sized and the superb bathrooms have every conceivable luxury, including bathrobes and deluxe toiletries.
