Don’t be confused by the postal address. Plas Uchaf is very much part of the Tanat Valley, one of the loveliest gateways into Wales. This is bucolic border country at its finest, where sheep and cattle graze on green, green grass and nothing disturbs the peace and pace of rural life. Plas Uchaf, a handsome 18th-century red-bricked house, is a haven of hospitality, with bedrooms bursting with personality and warmth. Elegant and graceful in a mix of crisp and classic styles, they come with super king-size, king-size or twin beds – and luxury Myddfai toiletries. All rooms have stunning views across the Tanat Valley – for the ultimate hideaway ask about the Garden Room, a dinky stand-alone property 30m from the main house.
