what’sNEW
A developer has proposed building a 180- room Hilton Garden Inn and an accompa- nying restaurant along Camden's Waterfront. Construction could begin by late summer or early fall of 2017 with expected completion by November 2018. The project would be part of a nearly one- billion-dollar mixed-use complex that also calls for 1.5-million-square feet of office space, plus retail outlets, parks and homes.
The planned hotel could accommodate overflow of convention goers and tourists visiting Philadelphia, as well as visitors to Camden attractions like Adventure Aquarium and the Battleship New Jersey. Plans also could include a new ferry stop, as well as shuttle service to the Camden's downtown, plus garage parking and bike paths.
