U3A Vall Del Pop Forthcoming Events

Christmas General Meeting Our Christmas General Meeting has been organised to get us all into the festive spirit and we are starting our meeting with a number of our favourite Carols and Christmas songs. Our entertainment begins after a short main meeting, with our MC introducing songs from the Popsters, a special guest appearance from Jenni Tollan [in appropriate costume]. Followed by dancers, and an ‘Old Time’ favourite from Bob and Stewart, which should be a laugh! Father Christmas has also promised to come along with his little ‘Elfer’ – a perfect opportunity to get your photo with Santa for your grandchildren. We finish with Christmas songs from the Casual Choir and one or two popular tunes, including our very own U3A Anthem. During the entertainment food and drink will be available, including mince pies, sausage rolls and cakes made by our members – thank you ladies as I suspect the men will be more interested in organising a festive drink or two, with tea and coffee for the essential drivers. A big thank to all the members who have offered to cook and help. Look forward to seeing you all on Thursday 8th December… come nice and early to get your seat and to start your Christmas festivities with a bang.

CARITAS CHARITY - Helping local needy people. See list of items currently needed with meeting agenda and please bring to the General meetings. There will also be a cash donation tin available. www.u3avalldelpop.com. U3A Vall del Pop always has ‘Something Going On’.

Christmas came early for this popular ladies harmony chorus with their sell out November concert that raised funds for ALPE (disadvantaged) & AECC (Cancer). The audience had a great time joining in with St Andrews night Scottish themed songs and 12 days of Christmas! They rehearse Wednesday mornings from 10am to 12.30pm at El Paraiso, Torrevieja. Call Mary-Anne: 96 671 4973 or check-out their Facebook page: Velvetones Harmony Chorus, or website: velvetonesharmonytorrevieja.com. Photo by Kristoff.
