We would like to thank everyone who has helped us, Friends of the Children of EMAÚS, help the children of EMAÚS get through another difficult year of lack of funding in 2016.
Over 10 years ago Carole Saunders walked into the Calpe Home for the first time and found the children complaining that it was pouring with rain and that not all of them had umbrellas. She mentioned this on OCI Radio and was swamped with umbrellas and donations. She had helped fundraise for EMAÚS Altea before with other groups, but realised
that there was a need to start an association that raised funds solely for the EMAÚS children. She therefore inaugurated “Friends of the Children of EMAÚS” an official non-profit making association dedicating its time solely to raising funds for the Children of EMAÚS. We are proud to say that in these past ten years, with your help, we have raised nearly 300,000€ all of which has been spent on improving the children's lives. We continue to buy them new clothing, TVs, Birthday presents and holidays but of course we now also help to pay for equipment for the homes, gas bills, new ovens, immersion heaters, etc etc. Luckily we still have enough money for end of term trips, and summer camps, for those who have no family.
We thank you for your support throughout 2016 and ask for you to please continue to do so.
