A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our furry, feathery and fluffy friends!
As humans, when we reach the end of an existing year we tend to look at all the things we would like to have accomplished and those which we did. Here at the Veterinary clinic we have been recapping all the things we have achieved this year, and also considering what we have in store for next year.
We are always keeping up with the latest medical advancements, treatments and products, to offer the very best of these to all our animal patients, and give the best service to their owners. But sometimes many owners are unaware of exactly what services we can offer, so here is a quick description:
We are a very dynamic team at the clinic, we have spent years working together to make sure your pets feel safe and comfortable with us, as this is very important to us. Not only do we make a good team but we also work closely with a select handful of specialists from all around Spain to make sure your pet gets the very best treatments.
We aren’t just your animals’ Vet but also his or her Dentist too! We carry out a range of specialist dental examinations, treatments and procedures. From the beginning through to maintenance, we have a fountain of knowledge, and a handful of tricks to keep your pets’ dental hygiene to its maximum.
At the clinic we believe diet and nutrition to be vitally important, as it can be a major factor for the treatment of certain illnesses. We are very qualified in this aspect, not only helping choose an appropriate diet suiting each animal’s needs, but also when necessary preparing a home food diet suitable for your pet requirements.
From naughty puppies to troubled seniors we also specialise in behavioural issues, from submission to aggression, from cats to dogs to birds and rodents; we have spent a lot of time investigating and correcting behavioral issues.
And yes, as you have read in our Female Focus articles over the years, we have always had a keen interest in exotic pets, from nail and teeth clipping to surgery. We have many exotic patients from guinea pigs to fancy rats, from cockatiels to goats, from hedgehogs to tortoises, the list goes on, we love them all regardless of species, number of legs, fingers and arms!
We also do our bit to help the animal kingdom. As there are many charities helping homeless dogs and feral cats, we try and help out local wildlife, we work closely with the animal wildlife recuperation center that helps rehabilitate wildlife and release it back to its original environment, we help them out until the wildlife centre arrives or even catch and release ourselves with their expert advice. We have helped many woodland critters, from sparrows, owls, robins, hedgehogs, finches and even a seagull!
We have accomplished many more things this year, too many to list, but I can give you a sneak preview of what’s to come in 2017.
Definitely more Puppy Parties! A new specialist is joining our team, she is a young vet from Germany and she specialises in acupuncture and German of course! We are also preparing some seminars and chats on geriatrics, dermatology, nutrition and more... So it only remains for us to wish all our patients and their owners a very happy Christmas and New Year, and do keep calling in to see us, we are in Jávea Port and we love to see you and your animals!
From Maria Carmen, Francesca and all the team at Clinica Veterinaria El Puerto.
