Start with the focal point; often the fireplace acts as the natural foundation so bring it to the forefront with a simple vase full of festive greenery and a berry accented garland across the mantel. Add scented candles to create a warm glow and fill the room with the smells of Christmas.
Choose a colour theme Whether it’s traditional red, gold and green or branching out to the colours of the rainbow for inspiration, sticking to a colour theme sensure your decorations look aesthetically pleasing rather than old style tacky! A single colour flourish adds sophistication, using modern popping colours will give new meaning to the term “merry and bright”, or choose your existing décor as the colour palette to ensure complete coordination.
