food and wine trail tour - a lovely walk in the woods with wine and food merchants pouring and serving their tasty wares along the way. At trail’s end there was a sumptuous pig roast com- plete with a rock-and-blues duo who serenaded guests as we watched the last rays of sun lower across the emerald green lawn…
My own takeaways from Skytop Lodge are vast and varied and they all trend positively upward. As limitless as the lay of the land appears here it’s an easy to area traverse, thanks to an at-the-ready shuttle system (no matter the size of the group).
I’m also very impressed with the stunning changes I’ve bore witness to as
well.Along with the addition of sleeping room renovations and the inclusion of the Library Lounge; the Adventure Center, and the Lakeside Dining Room, I appreciate how refreshed the overall look of the place appears to be, from cleanliness and com- fort of the grandly paneled main room (The Pine Room),and within good old Room 422, to the overall demeanor of the staff - like Robert, the doorman. His farewell salutation, just like his ini- tial hearty greeting, makes me want to return again soon.
Most of all, I’ve learned the
latitude here suits me well – a welcoming and relatively
close-to-home sojourn – here at the sky’s top tier of The Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.
