“What sets our venues apart,” reports Sophie Schwartz, marketing manager of Entertainment Cruises, “is the fact that the vessels are the only ships in Philadelphia that take groups on cruises. Planners can book a lunch cruise, which is two hours, or dinner for three hours. We sail from Penn’s Landing to the Navy Yard and every minute is fun and memo- rable.”
Schwartz advises that one deck or the entire ship can be rented for events. Everything is customized to suit the occasion. “A large health care firm recently staged a huge Hawaiian-themed employee recognition party complete with hula dancers. One of our most pop- ular cruises features a Monte Carlo motif. We work with a casino company, too, where guests can play with ‘funny money’ for prizes.”
The Spirit of Philadelphia offers three cli- mate-controlled interior decks with panoramic windows, spacious dance floors and full service bars, as well as an open-air roof deck. Freedom Elite has a variety of impeccably designed dining options, including plated menus, buffets, cocktail-style food stations and delec- table hors d’oeuvres. Both ships include entertainment possibilities, private spaces and observation decks.
Things don’t get much is cooler than the Jimmy Buffett-inspired Margaritaville and LandShark Bar and Grill in Atlantic City, NJ.
Located inside Resorts Hotel Casino, Margaritaville offers live entertainment, mouthwatering Caribbean food and a plethora of photo ops, including shots in front of a giant entry-way blender. There is a tiki bar and seasonal boardwalk deck, as well. Both sites can accommo- date groups of up to 600.
LandShark’s deck features surfing arti- facts, a new bar for beachside parties, island furniture and retractable walls to provide breathtaking views of the ocean and beach. It’s the only beach bar in Atlantic City that is open 365 days a year.
