Dance floor aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia set up for an event

When an event is held on Spirit of Philadelphia or Freedom Elite, guests

share a range of historic views and high- lights. They sail past Penn’s Landing, America’s first shot tower built in 1808,

Old Swede’s Church, the Sports Complex, Naval Shipyard, Red Bank Battlefield and Walt Whitman Bridge. Other sights

include Adventure Aquarium, the USS sub- marine Becuna, Gazela, a 177-foot-long

square-rigged vessel dating back to 1883, the Ben Franklin Bridge, Christ Church and Flagship Olympia.

Aquatopia opened last summer at Camelback Resort. No matter how cold it is outdoors, the spacious water park will always be a comfy 80 degrees. According to the owners, it is the largest indoor water park and family entertainment center in the northeast. It includes 13 slides, seven pools, a wave pool and flow rider surfing adventure. This is an event site that explodes in coolness despite its tropical temperature.

“You can lose really yourself in either spot,” points out Bill Jackson, Resorts AC’s director of sales and marketing. “It’s like a little slice of Key West. LandShark is right on the water and Margaritaville hosts parties for almost every hotel in town. No matter where a person is staying or why they are in Atlantic City, everyone wants to visit Margaritaville or LandShark.”

The two restaurants were built in Atlantic City because of the enormous popularity of Jimmy Buffett and large pop- ulation of Parrot Heads in the area. “We schedule a wide range of events for very diverse groups,” remarks Debbie Gutjahr, sales manager for Resorts. “Social, corporate, political, legal, nonprofit and more all love meeting at our venues. No matter who you are - secretary or CEO - you’re on the same level here. Networking possibilities are tremendous. Our excitement and ambience are so much more stimulating than a typical hotel restaurant.”

“Plus, the decorations are already there,” adds Jackson. “All any group needs to do is show up. Something unique, too, is our all-inclusive package. We offer meeting planners the option of a 90-minute reception at Margaritaville or LandShark in lieu of dinner at no extra charge.”
